Hansson Pin^® System

The hook pin implant features an inner sliding tongue which is pushed out through an outer pin to achieve fixation in the femoral head. The Hansson Pin was designed by Professor Lars Ingvar Hansson at Lund University in Sweden based on research concerning the effects of implants on the blood supply to the femoral head. The implant was subsequently designed to offer minimal surgical trauma and provide strong, stable fixation with reduced risk of healing complications.

As of January 2021, more than 300 000 patients have been treated with the Hansson Pin System.
