Dynaloc Femoral Neck Fracture System from Swemac

Dynaloc is a new concept in the treatment of femoral neck fractures. It has been designed to overcome the problem of fracture displacement after internal fixation.

Traditional internal fixation implants like cannulated screws or sliding hip screws will often fail to hold a fracture. Re-displacement of the fracture occurrs in bout 5 % of the undisplaced fractures and up to 30 % of displaced fractures. This is because traditional implants cannot provide enough mechanical stability to allow the fracture to remain and heal in its reduced position.

By locking three angle stable solid screws in a plate, Dynaloc acts as a single unit which allows dynamization (compression along the axis of the femoral neck during healing) while providing and unparallelled level of stability. The Dynaloc implant can recreate the stability of an unbroken hip.


Femoral neck fractures in adults

  • Allows 136°-160° range of motion (ROM).
  • Three point contact with cortical bone provides maximum stability. The inferior screw contacts the inferior cortex of the femoral neck.
  • The posterior screw contacts the posterior cortex of the femoral neck. The anterior screw contacts the anterior cortex of the femoral neck.
  • The Dynaloc Solid has the ability to compress the fracture, maintain length and prevent posterior tilt.
  • Parallel placement of the screws ensures continuous compression at the fracture site.
